No. 14 Princeton (1-2, 0-0 Ivy) went toe-to-toe with No. 3 Maryland (5-0, 0-0 Big Ten) on the road in College Park, twice rallying to within two goals after the Terps had built a 9-3 lead early in the second quarter.
In the end, Maryland closed the door on any hopes of a Princeton comeback and pulled away for a 16-12 win at SECU Stadium.
Maggie Bacigalupo had a career day for Princeton on attack. She entered the game with three career goals in nine games, but put together a four-goal effort to lead the Tigers.
Meg Morrisroe had two goals, while Ella Sloan had her third career multi-goal game.
Dylan Allen, an All-American defender, had a moment of her own as she scored her first career goal following an athletic charge downfield taking a clear all the way to the back of the net.
Amelia Hughes made 11 saves in goal for the Tigers.

How It Happened
- Princeton got two from Maggie Bacigalupo in the opening 3:12 to take a 2-0 lead. Her first came just 0:33 into the game before she took a Jami MacDonald pass and fired home her second of the day.
- Maryland then took control for the next six minutes, scoring seven in a row to erase Princeton's lead and take a 7-2 lead with 4:31 to play in the first quarter.
- By the time 2:28 had elapsed in the second quarter, Maryland's lead was up to 9-3 following a pair of Keely Block goals.
- The Tigers rallied before the end of the half, scoring the final four goals of the second quarter to send the game to halftime with Maryland ahead only by two.
- Princeton again got within two when Meg Morrisroe scored her second of the game 4:14 into the third quarter to make it a 10-8 game.
- Maryland would pull away with a 6-2 run to close the third quarter and start the fourth which put Maryland in front, 16-10 with 8:51 to play.
- Haven Dora and Jami MacDonald scored two in a span of 1:48 to get the Tigers back within four.
