The second road trip of 2026 for the Princeton men's tennis team will be much shorter than the first.
Princeton will spend the weekend in North Carolina, where it will play at No. 13 North Carolina State Friday at 5 and then Sunday at noon at North Carolina. This trip will require two one-hour flights and take one weeend, as opposed to the nearly-two-week trip out West for the first four matches of the season.
The match against North Carolina State will feature two of the top players in the latest ITA singles rankings, with Princeton's Paul Inchauspe at No. 7 and NC State's Martin Borisiuk at No. 11. The Wolfpack has two other top 100 players, with Jules Leroux at No. 69 and William Manning at No 88, while Princeton's Sebastian Sec is currently at 96.
Inchauspe and Landon Ardila are ranked 11th in doubles, and Sec and Meecah Bigun are 75th.
As for North Carolina, the Tar Heels have No. 59 Niels Ratiu and No. 84 Ian Mayew.
"We are looking forward to another great competitive opportunity at NC State and UNC," says Princeton head coach Billy Pate. "Both teams are strong and very good on their home courts. We anticipate close matches where we'll need to play smart, disciplined tennis from start to finish. We are confident we'll have our chances, and it's important our guys seize the opportunity when those turning points present themselves."
North Carolina enters the weekend at 2-1 prior to a match against Furman. Both the Tar Heels and Tigers have 4-0 wins over Virginia Tech.
