No. 14 Women's Water Polo Falls To No. 2 UCLA; Heads to Aztec Invite Next

LOS ANGELES - The No. 14 Princeton Women's Water Polo Team fell to the No. 2 UCLA Bruins, 12-4, at the Spieker Aquatics Center on Thursday evening.
After UCLA began the game with a goal, Princeton ripped off three straight tallies and led 3-1 after eight minutes of action.
The Bruins countered with their own 3-0 push to jump in front, 4-3. Vivian Golub tied game at 4-all with 4:40 to go in the first half but UCLA answered with three more goals including one at the buzzer go up 7-4 at the break.
UCLA put the contest away with two goals in the third quarter and three more in the fourth frame.
Golub, Charlotte Riches, Emese Batizi and Olivia Krotts scored for Princeton. Lindsey Lucas had 11 saves in the loss.
The Tigers continue their Spring Break trip at the Atzec Invitational this weekend (Mar. 13-15).
Head coach Derek Ellingson's group plays No. 19 San Diego State (2:30 pm ET, 11:30 am PT) and Whittier (4:30 PM ET, 1:30 PM PT) Friday along with No. 9 Indiana (12:00 PM ET, 9:00 a.m. PT) and No. 24 Pomona-Pitzer (3:00 p.m. ET, 12:00 p.m. PT) Saturday. The games will be streamed and be statted on FOSH.
Princeton is 16-3 this season and 3-1 in the CWPA with five ranked victories. The Tigers had 14-game winning streak come to an end with the loss to No. 13 Harvard. That was the second longest streak to start a year in program history.
Ellingson's team has six players with at least 20 goals in Shanna Davidson (41), Krotts (37), Didi Evans (36), Ava Houlahan (31), Golub (27) and Riches (24).
Davidson also leads the Tigers in steals (33), blocks (18) and sprint wins (19). Evans paces the offense with 91 points as she has 55 helpers along with 20 steals.
