No. 16 Women's Water Polo Finishes CWPA Action Saturday

PRINCETON – The No. 16 Princeton Women's Water Polo Team finishes up CWPA play at DeNunzio Pool on Saturday.
The Tigers will take on No. 10 Michigan at 9 a.m. while wrapping up with Saint Francis at 4 p.m. Prior to the Saint Francis contest, the team will honor the Class of 2026.
The trio of Shanna Davidson, Ava Houlahan and Lindsey Lucas was won 92 games, good for an .800 winning percentage while also going 32-4 in CWPA action. The Tigers also won two conference titles with this group, marking just the second time in program history that they had done so in consecutive years. Princeton reached the national semifinals for the first time ever in 2023 and became the first non-West Coast to get to the Final Four since 2016 during this trio's freshman campaign.
Princeton is 18-5 this season and 3-1 in the CWPA with seven ranked wins. No. 10 Michigan is at the top of the CWPA standings at 4-0 while Harvard is second at 4-1. Saint Francis is 0-4 in conference action. The Tigers had 14-game winning streak come to an end with the loss to No. 13 Harvard. That was the second longest streak to start a year in program history.
Davidson was most recently named CWPA Player of the Week this week. She produced five multi-goal performances for Princeton last week, totaling 16 goals along with 12 assists and 11 steals. The senior had seven points highlighted by five helpers at No. 25 Pomona-Pitzer before consecutive two-goal performances at No. 19 San Diego State and vs. Whittier. She ended the San Diego State Invitational with five goals each vs. No. 9 Indiana and No. 24 Pomona-Pitzer.
The senior captain is having a career season in her senior campaign with a personal-high 55 goals along with 36 assists, one shy of career best. She leads the team in tallies, steals (43) and sprint wins (21).
Lucas nabbed CWPA Defensive Player of the Week for the 19th time in her career. She now has 26 CWPA weekly honors which is the most in conference history, man or woman. Lucas stopped 18 shots and allowing just one goal vs. No. 25 Pomona-Pitzer. She produced 13 saves vs. No. 2 UCLA, 11 more stops at No. 19 San Diego State and 13 saves vs. No. 24 Pomona-Pitzer. For the season, Lucas sits with a 13-5 record, 179 saves and a .566 save percentage.
Princeton has six 30+ goal scorers including Davidson, Olivia Krotts (48), Houlahan (39), Vivian Golub (34) and Charlotte Riches (31). Kendall Wyer has also added 24 tallies as well.
