Tigers Sweep Doubleheader Against Cornell

PRINCETON, N.J. - The Tigers sweep Cornell in a doubleheader to open up their first series at Clarke Field this season, against Cornell.
Princeton 13, Cornell 7
Princeton opened up the scoring in the second inning off of an RBI single from Tommy Googins.
The Tigers continued to put up five more runs in the third inning, making it 6-0, with Jake Koonin hitting a three run homerun, followed by a RBI single from Jake Kernodle.
Offensive noise only got louder in the fifth inning as Princeton went on to score seven runs, increasing the lead to 13-0.
Cornell was able to chip away at the deficit in the ninth inning, scoring seven runs.
Justin Kim started on the mound, picking up his second win, after an impressive five-inning outing where he did not allow any runs and punched out eight. Will Sword struck six in four relief frames for the Tigers.

The Tigers opened up, scoring off the bat in the first with a sacrifice fly from Bennett Crerar followed by another homerun from Koonin.
Princeton continued to put up three more runs in the second inning.
In the fourth inning, an RBI triple off the bat of Crerar made it a 6-0 game.
The Tigers tallied up two more runs in the sixth inning, scoring on an error by Cornell followed by a RBI single from Tomas Cernius.
After putting up two more runs in the seventh, Will Robbins added to the lead with a two-run homerun in the eighth inning, making it 12-0.
James Beasley took the start on the mound for the Tigers, going five frames while striking out four. Elliott Eaton earned the save with four scoreless innings.
The Tigers and Big Red finished off the series on Sunday. First pitch is scheduled for 12 p.m.
