April 18, 2026 | Men's Track and Field
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – In a weekend with the Tigers scattered across the country, Joey Gant set a new program record in the 200m at the Virginia Challenge in Charlottesville, Va. and the Princeton men's track and field team competed at the IC4A Championships in Piscataway, N.J. on Saturday. Joe Licata also represented the Tigers in California at the Mt. SAC Relays.
Down at UVA, Gant ran a blazing 45.55 in the 400m, topping the previous Princeton record of 45.93, set in 2022 by Michael Phillippy '22. The achievement comes after Gant launched himself into second-place in the record book earlier this month with his first sub-46 performance at Sam Howell.
At IC4As, the Tigers won three events as Weston Brown set a new PB of 3:52.64 in the 1500m. Marcelo Parra Ramon also won the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 9:11.51. Tyler Konpoka claimed first in the shot put with a throw of 18.50m / 60-08.50.
In the 110 hurdle prelims, Easton Tan also took first place with a new personal best of 13.88, bumping him up to third in the Princeton record book. He and Yuki Hojo, who took third, will compete in tomorrow's final.
Two first-year Tigers claimed silver as Tsedeke Jakovics took second in the 800m, running 1:52.82, and Anthony Liakhnovich took second in the discus with a new PR of 50.88m / 166-11.
Out in California, Joe Licata picked up a second-place finish in the shot put at the Mt. SAC Relays, throwing 18.52m / 60' 9.25.
Up next, the Tigers will return to campus before heading to nearby Philadelphia for the Penn Relays next weekend, with some of the squad splitting for the TCNJ Lions Invite.
