No. 6 Women's Open Rowing Drops Close Races To Three Top-10 Opponents

PRINCETON – The No. 6 Princeton Women's Open Rowing Team battled three top-10 foes on Lake Carnegie Saturday.
The No. 4 Tennessee Volunteers' 1V took the top time in the first race of the day (6:12.1) over the No. 3 Yale Bulldogs (6:15.0), Princeton (6:17.1) and the No. 8 Virginia Cavaliers (6:18.1). Yale took home the Eisenberg Cup for the second consecutive year with a faster time than Princeton.
Head coach Lori Dauphiny's second varsity was second (6:25.6), 1.1 seconds behind UVA (6:24.5). Yale was third (6:28.3) and Tennessee (6:28.9).
The Volunteers' varsity four (7:15.3) crossed the line in first place as did their third varsity (6:42.6), varsity four B (7:19.7) and varsity four C (7:22.7).
Princeton's second varsity finished with a quicker time (6:25.6) than Yale (6:28.3) as did its varsity four (7:21.1) and its third varsity (6:58.2) and varsity four C (7:46.0).
Princeton heads on the road to No. 17 Michigan next Saturday along with No. 16 Ohio State.
