Â
PRINCETON, N.J. – Chasing a third straight Ivy League Triple Crown, the Princeton men's track and field team will host the Ivy League Heptagonal Outdoor Championships on Saturday and Sunday, May 16-17 in Weaver Stadium.Â
Â
The Tigers are coming off a dominant outdoor season, now leading the Ivy league in 12 events as they head into championship weekend. The Tigers also set two Ivy League records and three program records this season, with Greg Foster topping the league's books in the long jump and Myles Hogan taking the 5000m record.Â
Â
The steeplechase squad is ranked first in the nation by the USTFCCCA, headed by Jackson Shorten with a #6 time of 8:26.75 from Bryan Clay. Brian Boler's 8:37.82 from Sam Howell also ranks 24th in the nation and boosts the squad, while Sebastian Martinez (8:47.22) and Franco Parra Ramon (8:49.30) round out the nation's best steeple.
Â
The Tigers also rank fourth in the shot put, with Joe Licata leading (19.22m/63-0.75), and fifth in the 1500m, with Connor McCormick in first at 3:36.47.Â
Â
Princeton also ranks in the top-15 in the 10k, 100m and 110m hurdles.Â
Â
Last year, Princeton completed its 12th all-time and second-consecutive Triple Crown by winning the 2025 Outdoor Heps Championship.Â
Â
The Tigers won by a margin of 84.5 points as they dominated the competition, claiming five individual champions.Â
Â
This Fall, the Tigers continued their streak of success as they won the 2025 cross country championship. Now with the indoor title claimed, they are an outdoor Ivy League championship away from completing the feat.
Â
The Tigers are led by Jason Vigilante, in his third year at the helm. Since being named the head coach, Vigilante has led the Tigers to two Triple Crowns. He was named the 2025 Outdoor Mid-Atlantic Coach of the Year, and the 2025 Indoor and Outdoor Ivy Coach of the Year.Â
