Jess Deutsch is Associate Director, Student-Athlete Services.
Having spent two decades as an advisor and consultant in higher education, Jess has been in her current role in Athletics since 2018. As a part of the Student-Athlete Experience team, her office works closely with Compliance and Princeton Tiger Performance, to reinforce resources that help student-athletes to thrive. Jess works to build the Team around the Team, including the Princeton Athletics Fellows. From 2008-2012, Jess was Associate Director, Health Professions Advising at Princeton, where she loved serving as a Princeton Athletics Fellow to women’s basketball and football.
A Princeton alumna (Class of 1991), Jess holds master’s degrees in education from Harvard, and in social work from Rutgers. She has served on the Executive Committee for Tigers Together, and was co-chair, Professional Development, on the Campus Life Development Committee. She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers, N4A, and was an elected member of the Princeton Public Schools Board of Education from 2017-2020. She lives in Princeton with her husband, Ted (’91) where she enjoys a lot of small world coffee, and visits from their son, Alex, and daughter, Maddie, as often as possible.
