Mike Pallister finished his seventh year as an assistant coach with Princeton Field Hockey. Joining the coaching staff in 2011, he has helped guide the Tigers to a 89-45 overall and 45-4 Ivy League record.
Princeton won 12 games for the second straight season, winning the Ivy League title in 2017. The Tigers reached the NCAA quarterfinals after a thrilling double-overtime victory over No. 5 Virginia on the road in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. During the year, Princeton defeated five ranked teams and had six players named to All-Region status. Maddie Bacskai and Ryan McCarthy were selected as All-Americans, each player’s first All-America honor.
2016 was a wonderful year for Princeton (12-8) as the team received its first at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament in program history en route to a Final Four berth. Princeton finished with five players on the all-region teams highlighted by Cat Caro's sparkling All-American campaign.
Prior to Princeton, Pallister spent three seasons at the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth, serving as a graduate assistant coach while pursuing a master's degree in business administration. During his tenure with the Corsairs, Pallister helped guide the program to its first-ever Little East Conference championship and an appearance in the NCAA tournament in 2010. During that span, UMD posted a 46-21 mark with a 27-6 ledger in Little East conference play. In addition to his role as a graduate assistant, Pallister served as a head coach with the Cape Ann Coalition club team and with several Precision Field Hockey clinics.
During the summer of 2012, Pallister was in Vancouver, Canada working as a coach with the largest club in North America, the West Vancouver Field Hockey Club. Through the WVFHC he was also involved with the high performance ADANAC program and assisted the Canadian U-21 Junior National Team in their buildup for a European tour and World Cup qualifying.
A native of Canberra, Australia, Pallister represented the Australian Capital Territory in the National Championships as a junior before playing in the Men's State League One competition for St. Patrick's Hockey Club. Pallister earned an undergraduate degree in finance and accounting from the Australian National University in 2004, before receiving his MBA from the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth in 2010.
