Easton, Pa. - The Princeton men's cross country team placed six of its runners in the Top 12 to take top honors at the Leopard Invitational earlier today at Lafayette. The Tigers averaged the five mile course in a time of 26:02.39, over 20 seconds faster than second-place Columbia.
Ryan Teising was Princeton's top finisher in fifth. He completed the course in 25:51.79, just five second off of first-place Xavier Deboissezon of Colgate. Dan Mackenzie finished sixth in 25:53.87 and teammate John Basler came home seventh in 26:01.42
Wayne Hopp was the fourth Tiger in the Top 10 as he finished 10th in 26:09.15. Eric Beights and Jeff Byrne finished 11th and 12th, respectively.
The Tigers won the event despite being without several of their top runners, as the team also sent seven runners to the Pre National Invitational in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
