Princeton, N.J. - Maureen Lane scored 20 points and pulled down 12 rebounds, but it was Hana Peljto and the Harvard Crimson that would come out on top in women's basketball action at Jadwin Gym Saturday night. Princeton drops its second straight at home, falling 72-60.
Lane connected on three three-point shots, leading the Tigers in both scoring and rebounding. Kelly Schaeffer, who scored 22 points for Princeton last night, chipped in with 10 points, three rebound and two steals.
Peljto led Harvard with a double-double, scoring 16 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. Reka Cserny finished with 15 points and Beverly Moore chipped in with 13 points.
The Tigers outscored Harvard in the second half, shooting 44 percent from the field and scoring 36 points to Harvard's 35. Princeton made four three-point shots while the Crimson made eight. The Tigers are 0-9 this season when an opponent makes more three-point field goals.
Harvard stays perfect in the Ivy League, running its record to 10-0 in conference and 18-4 overall. Princeton falls to 8-15 overall and 3-6 in the Ivies. The Tigers return to action next weekend when they host Yale and Brown. Both games are at 7 p.m.
