PRINCETON - The Princeton women's squash team completed a perfect 4-0 weekend by opening its Ivy League season with a 9-0 win over Cornell on Sunday. The win completed a weekend that also saw Princeton win matches over F&M, Haverford and Virginia.
Princeton's win on Sunday opens the Tigers' bid for the 2004-05 Ivy League title on a positive note. Princeton didn't lose a game against the Big Red and got dominant performances from an array of freshmen and sophomores. No member of the top seven are either a junior or senior for Princeton.
"We played quite well," head coach Gail Ramsay said. "Margaret Kent, a freshman, played a very solid, dominating match. It was good to see her come out so strong in her first Ivy League match. Claire played extremely well also. For our opening match, we did quite well, but there are still things to work on to get better. The results for the Cornell match are below.
