Byrne Leads Tigers to Fourth at Leopard Invitational

EASTON, Pa. - A week after winning the Rider Invitational, Princeton's Jeff Byrne finished 10th to lead the men's cross country team to a fourth-place finish at the Leopard Invitational at Lafayette College Saturday morning.
Byrne finished the five miles in 26:58.8 to round out a top 10 that finished within a 33-second margin from top to bottom. The Tigers' 125 points were just behind UMBC's 121 for third place.
All of Princeton's scorers finished among the top 41 runners on Saturday. Pete Quinzio was 24th in 27:28, while freshman Brett Campfield was 26th in 27:32.
Two other freshmen also scored for the Tigers. Kyle Smith was 36th in 27:54, while Tom Yersak was 41st in 28:04.
Princeton's top seven runners were competing at the Pre-Nationals Invitational in Indiana on Saturday.
