The Tigers cut the lead to 10 points with 6:58 left on a Kyle Koncz three-pointer and were within six points with 17 seconds left after two Noah Savage free throws, but Ryan Rourke's free throws with 14 seconds left for Cornell finally put the game out of reach.

Collins scored 10 of his 15 points after halftime, including a three-pointer with 17 minutes left that gave the Big Red a 36-18 lead. The senior forward also had four assists in addition to his second career double-double.

Consecutive layups by Edwin Buffmire pulled the Tigers within eight points, 53-45, with 58 seconds left, and two free throws 14 seconds later by Scott Greenman made it 54-47 Cornell.
