Women's Squash Opens 2006-07 Campaign With 9-0 Sweep Of Cornell
November 18, 2006 | Women's Squash
The Princeton women's squash team opened its 2006-07 season with the highest of hopes, and it got off to a very strong start in Sunday's season-opening match against Cornell. With three freshmen in the lineup, including No. 1 Neha Kumar, the Tigers swept all nine matches against the Big Red.
Kumar claimed a 9-5, 9-4, 9-0 win over Maxi Prinsen at No. 1 in both her collegiate and home debut. Former No. 1 Claire Rein-Weston, who will only be more dangerous at No. 2, overcame a challenging first game to cruise late to a 9-5, 9-0, 9-2 win. Freshman Amanda Siebert debuted at No. 3 and topped Alex Cornett 9-5, 9-1, 9-2.
The final freshman debut was made by Kaitlin Sennatt, who swept Jamie Singer 9-0 in three straight games. Another strong effort came from Carly Grabowski, who won 3-0 at No. 6. She continues an impressive streak of having never lost a regular-season match.
