Women's Hockey Plays to 3-3 Draw at Boston College

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. -- Junior Melanie Wallace had a goal and an assist to help the Princeton women's hockey team to a 3-3 tie on Friday afternoon at Boston College. Princeton used two goals in the third period to get a lead, but the Eagles scored with the goalie pulled to forge the tie.
The Eagles got on the scoreboard early when Megan Shea converted on the power play at 2:18, but the lead last only until the middle of the period when freshman Paula Romanchuk etted her fifth goal of the season with the help of Wallace.
Boston College scored the lone goal of the second period and was ahead 2-1 entering the third, but Princeton drew even in the seventh minute on Wallace's second of the season and went ahead at 13:04 when senior Christine Foster scored her third of the year.
Princeton held the lead until the Eagles' Mary Restuccia scored with 1:26 remaining as Boston College pulled their goaltender in an attempt to even the score.
Princeton senior goaltender Kristen Young made 22 saves for the tie while Molly Schaus had 25 saves for the Eagles.
Princeton moved to 4-6-1 overall with the tie and returns to action on Tuesday night at home against Quinnipiac. The game was the fourth straight tie played between Princeton and Boston College and Princeton is now 16-0-6 all-time against the Eagles.
