Young Tigers Take Second for Women's XC at Paul Short Run

BETHLEHEM, Pa. (10/1/10) - The Princeton women's cross country team took second in the brown race of the Paul Short Run at Lehigh on Friday, Oct. 1. The team averaged a time of 22:44, and earned 161 points to finish second to Rutgers who had a time of 22:33 and earned 118 points in the 41-team race.
Freshman Clare Gallagher was the top finisher for the Tigers clocking in at 22:08 for eigth place. Sophomore Greta Feldman ran in at 22:31 for 18th place. Classmate Lauren Zumbach was 32nd with a time of 22:48. Freshman Molly Higgins and sophmore Abby Hewitt rounded out the top five scorers finishing 42nd and 61st at 22:56 and 23:14, respectively.
Over 385 runners competed in the race, showing a strong potential for the young group representing Princeton.
Earlier in the women's open 6k race, Princeton alum and All-America Liz Costello '10 didn't cease to surprise as she won the race at 21:08 out of 212 harriers.
