Tigers Meet NCAA Provisional Marks Six Times at Alex Wilson Invite

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (3/6/10) - Princeton had four individual and one relay team meet NCAA Provisional Qualifying times at the Alex Wilson Invitational at Notre Dame this weekend, March 5-6.
Senior Reilly Kiernan was third in the 5000-meter run, clocking in at 16:21.94 meeting NCAA provisional standards and rewriting her personal best. Junior Ashley Higginson and sophomore Alex Banfich went 4-5 in the 3000-meter run. Higginson clocked in at 9:30.40, NCAA provisional qualifying while Banfich just missed the 9:32 mark coming in at 9:34.61. Senior Alexa Glencer also competed in the event and finished in 9:44.98.
On the men's side, the Tigers' distance medley relay of freshman Peter Callahan, junior Mike Eddy, freshman Russell Dinkins and sophomore Trevor VanAckeren meet NCAA provisional qualifying time clocking in at 9:37.30, a new school record for a DMR.
Dinkins reached his second NCAA provisional mark of the afternoon when he ran the 800 in 1:50.19. His time is a new personal best, shattering his own record of 1:51.22.
Sophomore Austin Hollimon placed fourth in the 400, crossing the line at 47.19. This is his fourth provisional time of the season and his second-best time of the season.
In the mile, junior Kyle Soloff ran a 4:06.24 his best time in the mile this season.
The final list of NCAA meet participants will be announced by the NCAA on Monday, March 8 by 7 p.m. The NCAA Indoor Championship will be held at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Ark., March 12-13.
