Callahan and Cabral Take on the World

PRINCETON, N.J. (7/21/10) - Princeton men's tack and field continues to build off of the 2009-10 season with impressive performances this summer.
Peter Callahan was the top American runner in the men's 1500 at the IAAF World Junior Championship in Moncton, New Brunswick. Callahan recorded a new personal best of 3:45.04 taking down his previous best of 3:46.42 to finish sixth. He was just 2.62 seconds behind the winner Kenyan Caleb Mwangangi Ndiku.
All-America Donn Cabral competed and won the men's steeplechase at the 2010 NACAC U-23 Track & Field Championship in Miramar, Florida. With a time of 8:52.67, Cabral beat out two other competitors, fellow American Stephen and Alvaro Abreau of the Dominican Republic both of which finished over the nine-minute mark. His win helped Team USA win the medal count with 74 with Canada second with 17 and Mexico third with 13.
The pair will compete for the Tigers as members of the cross country team beginning on September 11 at the Spiked Shoe Invitational.
