Another highlight of the day was senior George Abyad recording a personal best in the discus. He threw to 52.70 meters to finish sixth overall and third collegiately, topping his previous best of 52.45. Abyad placed eighth in the shot put earlier in the day with a throw of 14.83.
Senior Craig Pearce placed second in the hammer throw, throwing to 62.65 meters, on his sixth and final throw of the day.
