Pearce 2nd and Lehman 3rd on Day 2 of IC4A Championships

PRINCETON, N.J. (5/14/11) - Senior Craig Pearce was the runner-up in the hammer throw to highlight day two of the IC4A Outdoor Track & Field Championships for the Princeton men's track & field team.
Pearce threw to a mark of 63.21 (207-04), missing first place by just 14 inches. He finished second of out 26 competitors.
Fellow thrower senior George Abyad was 12th of 29 in the discus throwing to 48.58 (159-04).
Taking third in the long jump was senior Dion Lehman. Lehman reached 7.27 (23-10.25) in an event that featured 32 jumpers.
Junior Austin Hollimon and sophomore Russell Dinkins both qualified for the finals of the 400-meter dash. Holliman ran 47.29 and Dinkins 47.34 to be two of eight that will run in the final tomorrow.
Princeton will also compete in the high jump, triple jump and shot put tomorrow.
Due to possible weather issues, Sunday's event will be conducted on a rolling time schedule beginning at noon.
