Men's Cross Country and Cabral Win at Fordham

BRONX, N.Y. (9/10/11) - The Princeton men's cross country team opened its season with a win as the Tigers had four of the top six finishers at Saturday's Fordham Invitational. Donn Cabral took the top spot with a time of 25:30.37 on a course just shy of five miles at Van Cortlandt Park.
Cabral finished 12 second ahead of his teammate Eddie Owens. At the end of the race, only four three runners would finish within 23 seconds of Cabral's time. Tigers Biran Leung and Tyler Udland finished fifth and sixth. Owens finished the race in a time of 25:42.43, while Leung and Udland finished a second apart with times of 25:53.08 and 25:54.37.
The Tigers took the team title with a low score of 26, 15 points better than second-place Navy and 62 points better than Yale, its closest Ivy competitor. Penn and NYU rounded out the Top 5.
The Tigers have 20 days off before they compete again, sending split squads to the invitationals at Lehigh and Notre Dame on Sept. 30.
