| Princeton controlled possession and outshot and out-cornered Villanova by huge margins Sunday afternoon on Myslik Field at Roberts Stadium, but it took until there were 64 seconds left in regulation to get what became the game-winning goal. Senior Lauren Lazo scored both goals for the Tigers in the team's 2-1 win over Villanova, getting the first in the 19th minute and the next nearly 70 minutes later off a play that began with Princeton's 15th - of 16 - corner kicks on the afternoon. The Tigers outshot Villanova 27-4 overall and held the Wildcats without a corner kick. Despite the wide margin in shots and corners, the contest was tied for much more time than it wasn't. Villanova got the equalizer in the 52nd minute when the Wildcats' Amanda Vocelka slid a pass over to teammate Victoria Gersh at the top of the 18-yard box for a one-on-one chance with Tiger keeper Darcy Hargadon. |
