Box Score
| Richmond never trailed in its 3-2 win over the Princeton women's soccer team Friday night in Virginia, using a 28th-minute goal to take a lead and scoring twice in an 11-minute span in the second half to take a two-goal lead before the Tigers scored late. Lauren Lazo evened things up for the Tigers in the 52nd minute, taking a pass from Tyler Lussi to make it 1-1. The tie was short-lived, as Richmond's Ashley Riefner, who had a hat trick on the night, scored to put the Spiders back up 2-1. Riefner scored for the final time in the 65th minute on a penalty kick to put her team up by two before Tyler Lussi found the net for the first time this season, scoring with 30 seconds left. |

| • The Richmond win tied the all-time series at 2-2. Richmond won both meetings on its home field, in 2000 and this season, and Princeton won the other two in 2006 and last year. • Freshman Gudrun Jonsdottir saw her first collegiate action, playing the final 18:33 in goal. She is the seventh Tiger freshman to play in a game this season. • Lauren Lazo's goal was her fifth of the season, and the assist on Tyler Lussi's goal in the final minute gave her three points on the night and 10 on the season. • Haley Chow's assist on classmate Tyler Lussi's goal was the sophomore's first point on the season. The goal was also Lussi's first of the season after scoring 10 a year ago to become the highest-scoring Princeton freshman in 31 years. • Princeton lost despite outshooting Richmond 22-12. Princeton had won or tied the last four games in which it took at least 20 shots against an opponent, with Yale, despite being outshot 22-16, defeating Princeton 3-2 in last year's Ivy opener as the last time Princeton lost despite taking 20 shots. • Princeton started as many as five freshmen for the fifth time this season. • Junior Catherine Hartigan had her first start of the season and the second of her career. |
