Men's Track & Field Closes Out First Day at Armory Invitational

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Behind several strong performances, the Princeton University men's track & field team wrapped up the first day of competition at the 2015 Armory Invitational.Mike Mazzaccaro posted the top time in Friday's two sessions of the 3000m run, crossing the finish line in 8:25.76. Teammate Sam Pons had the third fastest time (8:31.51). Turning in the third-best time in the 5,000m run, Michael Sublette clocked in at 14:27.89. Wolfgang Beck was eighth with a time of 14:42.23.
Josh Freeman came in 22nd in the 500m with a time of 1:06.31. In the 1000m event, Noah Kauppila paced all Tiger runners with a seventh-place showing (2:26.61). Stephen Rossettie was 23rd with a time of 2:29.46.
Rob Mohr was 16th in the semifinals of the 60m hurdles at 8.11, while John Hill was 22nd in the semis of the 60m dash with a time of 6:93. Carrington Akosa was the Tigers' top finisher in the 400m dash with a time of 50.18.
In the field events, Christopher Cook was third in the shot put, thanks to a toss of 17.59 (57-8.5) on his third attempt. Mitchel Charles came in 11th with a mark of 15.68 (51-5.5). Greg Leeper was 15th in the long jump with a leap of 6.97m (22-10.5).
