Spiezio Leads Men's XC to 4th-Place Finish at Regionals

RESULTS
PRINCETON, N.J. (11/13/15) - For the second consecutive season the Princeton men's cross country team finished fourth at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional. The Tigers earned 102 points and were led by freshman Jeremy Spiezio.
The three nationally ranked squads took the top three spots asNo. 15 Georgetown won with 44 points, followed by No. 23 Penn with 60 points and No. 22 Villanova with 67. Following Princeton, in fifth place was Penn State.
Patrick Tiernan of Villanova was the top finisher at 30:15.8, 26 seconds ahead of the rest of the runners.
Spiezio was the No. 1 runner for the first time this season. He clocked 31:21.2 to finish 16th. Three seniors followed: Berger was 19th at 31:28.5, Michael Sublette was 21st at 31:31.0 and Brett Kelly was 22nd at 31:31.5. Freshman Steven Sum was the final scorer, clocking 31:32.2 for 24th.
All five Princeton runners placed in the top 25 to earn All-Region honors.
Princeton will need to secure one of 18 at-large bids to continue its season at the NCAA Championships. The selections will be made on Saturday, Nov. 14 by 3 p.m.
