Barowski Sets School Record as Princeton Opens Season at Metro Holiday Meet

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – Cecilia Barowski set a school record in the 1,000m as the Princeton University women's indoor track and field team opened its 2015-16 season at the Metro Holiday Meet.
Clocking in at 2:48.56, Barowski edged out an unattached runner, Trina Bills (2:55.78). Columbia's Brittney Wade finished third with a time of 2:55.97. Barowski's time also narrowly beat out that of the Lions' Sarah Hardie (2:48.61; 2015) for the top Ivy benchmark. Princeton's Summer Hanson (3:01.94) and Michelle Tracy (3:02.09) placed sixth and seventh, respectively.
Christina Walter led the way for the Tigers in the 200m, placing third with a time of 25.52, while Allison Glossinger was fifth in the 400m (59.23). Taylor Morgan (8.92) and Allison Harris (9.07) were fourth and fifth in the 60m hurdles.
Winning the 4x800m relay, Alie Fordyce, Ashley Forte, Meghan McMullin, and Jackie Berardo posted a time of 9:18.09, crossing the finish line 40 seconds ahead of their closest competitors. In the field events, Kerri Davidson (11.54m) and Alex Lanzafame (11.02m) finished 1-2 in the triple jump.
Morgan was second in the high jump, clearing 1.70m. Sara Ronde was the runner-up in the long jump with a mark of 5.35m, while Kennedy O'Dell (16.07m) and Brielle Rowe (15.59m) took first and third in the weight throw. O'Dell (12.71m) and Rowe (12.13m) also placed fourth and fifth in the shot put.
The Tigers will host the New Year's Invitational on Friday, Dec. 11.
