Feb. 26 TigerCast: Harrison Wagner, Scott Rushton & Kim Mackay
February 26, 2015 | General, Men's Swimming and Diving, Men's Track and Field, Women's Track and Field
A trio looking to bring home Ivy League championships this weekend are the latest guests on TigerCast.
Senior swimmer Harrison Wagner has won both an individual and multiple Ivy League team titles, and he is looking to cap his career with titles in both as the Ivy League Championships return to DeNunzio Pool this weekend. Wagner, the 2013 Ivy champion in the 50, will swim for that title Thursday night, and he discusses both the challenges of the full meet and the excitement of having it return to DeNunzio.
Senior Scott Rushton is a captain for the men's track and field team, which heads to Boston this weekend for the Heptagonal Indoor Track & Field Championships. Rushton has been an indoor scorer in the past in the shot put competition, and he is one of numerous potential Tiger scorers in that event this year. Rushton talks about his own development in the event, as well as monitoring Princeton's top team rival, Cornell, throughout the weekend.
Senior Kim Mackay is a captain and mid-distance runner for the women's track & field team, which also competes at the Heptagonal Indoor Track & Field Championships in Boston this weekend. Mackay has been a scorer on relays in the past, and she knows that every point is crucial in a seemingly deep field of squads. Mackay talks about controlling the energy throughout the weekend and a different sense from her teammates entering this year's competition.
