No. 11 Princeton Closes Out Weekend With Wins Over Gannon, Mercyhurst

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The 11th-ranked Princeton University women's water polo team extended its win streak to nine games with a pair of CWPA wins over Gannon and Mercyhurst at Bucknell's Kinney Natatorium.
The Tigers opened the day with an 11-3 triumph over Gannon before cruising past Mercyhurst, 16-7. Going 4-0 on the weekend, Princeton improved to 11-1 on the season and a combined 13-0 against Gannon and Mercyhurst.

Holding onto a 2-0 lead after the first quarter, Princeton netted six of the seven goals in the second period to blow the game open. Finishing with a 3-2 scoring edge in the third quarter, the Tigers cruised to an eight-goal margin of victory.
Morgan Hallock paced the Tiger offense with three goals while also drawing a squad-best three ejections. Hannah Lapkin and Ashley Hatcher each had two goals, while Camille Hooks, Taylor Dunstan, Kimi Klein and Jessie Holechek also got on the board. Hooks also nabbed three steals, while Haley Wan, Dunstan, Lapkin and CeCe Coffey each recorded a pair of takeaways.
Getting the start, Ashleigh Johnson stopped six of the seven shots she faced. Playing the second half, Helena van Brande registered eight saves.

Jumping out to a 5-1 lead in first quarter, Princeton carried an 8-4 margin into the intermission. Netting four of the five goals in the third, the Tigers held a 4-2 scoring edge in the final frame.
Finding the back of the opposing net on all five of her shots, Ashley Hatcher also nabbed a pair of steals. Hannah Lapkin had three goals and two assists, while Taylor Dunstan finished with two goals and a team-high four assists.
Pippa Temple also chipped in with a pair of goals. Camille Hooks picked up a goal, an assist and two steals, while Haley Wan, Morgan Hallock and Jessie Holechek each tallied a score. Kimi Klein dished out three assists.
Improving to 6-0 on the season, Helena van Brande posted nine saves. Making two stops in the first half, the rookie netminder collected seven saves over the final 16 minutes.
