Princeton's Mazzaccaro embracing comeback

It's a classic photo: Mike Mazzaccaro crossing the finish line, arms raised, as Christian Brothers Academy wins the boys distance medley at the Penn Relays.
That was in April of 2011. Mazzaccaro would race just once more over the next two-and-a-half years as an Achilles tendon injury and two stress fractures set in. Now a senior at Princeton University, he returns to Franklin Field this week with a greater appreciation of what it takes to compete at track and field's highest level.
"Now I realize running every day is something I took for granted," he said via phone Sunday. "I know each day being out there with the team is something to be cherished. When you can run a good race, it means a lot more."
