Men's Track & Field Finishes First Full Day at Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA (4/24/15) - The Princeton men's track & field team competed at the 121st Penn Relays this afternoon at Franklin Field.
Three Tigers competed in the college shot put. Leading the performances was senior Scott Rushton, who finished 15th with a throw of 16.80 (55-1.5). Freshman Mitchel Charles was 17th at 16.69 (54-9.25) and sophomore Chris Cook was 23rd at 16.29 (53-5.5).
Junior Jake Scinto placed 16th in the college long jump, reaching 7.00 (22-11.75) on his final attempt. Scinto ran the third leg of the 4x100 later in the day. Joined by junior Dré Nelson, junior John Hill and sophomore Brent Albertson the relay clocked 42.16 to finish eighth in heat 5 and 31st out of 72 relay teams.
The 4x400 relay of sophomore Greg Leeper, senior Tom Scott, freshman Josh Freeman and sophomore Ray Mennin ran 3:16.58 to finish fifth in the Heptagonal race. Leeper also competed in the 400-meter hurdle championship and was fourth in section 4 at 54.57.
In the 110 hurdles, junior Greg Caldwell posted a 14.75 to finish 10th in Heat 1.
Yesterday evening, sophomore Stephen Rossettie raced in the Olympic Development steeplechase and put up a time of 9:54.14.
Princeton continues competing at the Penn Relays tomorrow.
