Bragg Wins IC4A Pole Vault Title

RESULTS
PRINCETON, N.J. (5/17/15) - Junior Adam Bragg won the pole vault as Princeton hosted the 2015 IC4A Outdoor Track & Field Championship at Weaver Stadium, May 15-17.
Bragg won the pole vault with a mark of 5.30 (17-4.50). Bragg easily cleared the mark on his first attempt. He passed on 5.35, 5.40 and 5.45 and went straight for 5.50. With the win in hand, Bragg attempted a new PR, after setting a school record of 5.42 two weeks ago at the Princeton Open, but it wouldn't be today.
Senior Tumi Akinlawson finished in fifth place in the long jump. He leapt to 7.24 (23-9) on his final attempt of the afternoon.
Freshman Lane Russell posted a PR in the triple jump and took third in the event. For the first time, Russell jumped more than 15 meters and hit 15.42 (50-7.25). His previous best was 14.96 (49-1).
Another PR came from freshman James Burns who earned 5,890 points in the decathlon to take 11th overall.
Senior Mike Mazzaccaro ran 14:15.20 in the 5k to take fourth.
Junior Greg Caldwell reached the finals of the 110-meter hurdles and placed fifth at 14.33. The event started with 31 competitors, as Caldwell clocked 14.45 in the prelims and 14.23 in the semifinals before making the seven-man final.
Overall Princeton earned 29 points and tied for eighth place among the 47 teams that scored.
The East Regional will be held in Jacksonville, Fla., May 28-30. The top 48 in each individual event and top 24 relays qualify. The NCAA will announce the list of accepted entries by Thursday, May 21 at 1 p.m., and will post the start list by 2 p.m., on May 26.
