Women's Cross Country Takes Third at Iona Meet of Champions

BRONX, N.Y. (9/19/15) - The Princeton women's cross country team took third place at the 21st Annual Brother John Paddy Doyle/Iona Meet of Champions race today at Van Cortlandt Park.
Wisconsin won the meet with a team score of 26, followed by Johns Hopkins with 59 points and the Tigers taking third, just one point behind with 60. Both No. 10 Wisconsin and No. 29 Princeton raced today without its top three runners.
Senior Emily de La Bruyere and freshman Brighie Leach paced the Tigers with 4-5 finish. de La Bruyere crossed the line in 22:29.3 with Leach just one tenth of a second later at 22:29.4. Senior Kathryn Little was 12th overall at 22:58.2 followed by junior Nicole Marvin at 23:13.8. The final scorer was sophomore Melinda Renuart at 23:16.3.
Princeton returns ot action on Saturday, Oct. 3 when it hosts the Princeton Interregional Meet. The meet will bring a number of quality teams to West Windsor Field in what will act as a pre-regional. Teams attending include: Columbia, Duke, Duquesne, Indiana, Monmouth, St. John's, No. 21 UNC, No. 12 Villanova, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest and No. 13 William & Mary.
