Mimi Asom's 64th-minute goal was the only one of the match as the Princeton women's soccer team beat Lehigh 1-0 on Tuesday night in Bethlehem, Pa.
On a play that began on a Princeton free kick about 10 yards in from the midfield stripe, Mikaela Symanovich played a loose ball into the 18-yard box that a Lehigh foot directed the other way only to see Asom intercept it and fire it inside the left post for her fourth goal of the year.Â
The shutout is Princeton's 18th in the 22-match series with Lehigh, which Princeton now leads 21-0-1, and the clean sheet is rookie keeper Natalie Grossi's fourth solo shutout of the season and extends a shutout streak of 196:16.
Though Princeton will have one more non-conference game on Oct. 25 at Roberts Stadium against Lehigh's fellow Patriot League member Bucknell, the Tigers will return to Ivy League play Saturday with a 4 p.m. match against Brown at Roberts Stadium.
