November 17, 2016 | Men's Cross Country
Live Results
Freshman Conor Lundy will compete at the 2016 NCAA Cross Country Championship, representing the Princeton men's cross country team on Saturday, Nov. 19 in Terre Haute, Ind.
The men's 10k championship race on the LaVern Gibson course is set for noon.
Lundy qualified as a individual after taking third at the Mid-Atlantic Regional at Penn State last weekend. It marked the best finish by a Princeton freshmen since the regional format began in 2005. Lundy is the first individual to qualify since 2009 when Rob Speare made the finals. In the early part of the decade, from 2003-09, nine Tigers: Tristan Colangelo, Austin Smith, Frank Macreery, David Nightingale, Michael Maag, Ben Sitler, Brian Leung and Speare reached the finals 13 times. The best finish of that group was Nightingale taking 39th in 2006.
From 2010-13 the Tigers as a team qualified for the championships with its best finish being 11th place in 2012. The best finish individual during that time was set by Olympian and All-American Donn Cabral's 19th place finish in 2010.
Lundy was the first Tiger across the line at Regionals and Wisconsin's Nuttycombe. He was the second Tiger and third overall at Ivy League Heps to earn All-Ivy League honors, two weeks before claiming all-region accolades.
