Princeton Follows Up Stanford Win With 8-1 Victory Over F&M
November 19, 2016 | Women's Squash
One day after its big season-opening victory over fifth-ranked Stanford, the fourth-ranked Princeton women's squash team improved to 2-0 on the young season with an 8-1 home win over Franklin & Marshall.
The Tigers were able to rest their All-America duo of Olivia Fiechter and Maria Elena Ubina and rely on their depth in the win over the Diplomats. Princeton established early control by sweeping the opening shift of matches, including a 3-0 win for sophomore Camille Price at the No. 8 spot. Price earned her second career win, and dropped only six points in the victory over Kate O'Brien.
Lindsey Scott, Alexandra Toth and Kate Feeley were also opening-shift winners for Princeton, who wasted little time clinching the victory in the final shift. The Tigers won four of five in the final shift, including the first career win for Tiger freshman Madison Soukup. She dropped only five points in a 3-0 win at the No. 7 spot.
Princeton will remain home Sunday at noon for a showdown with George Washington. You can watch the match live on the Ivy League Digital Network.
