Six Wins and Five PRs Puts Princeton on Excellent Path for Indoor Season

Results
The Princeton women's track & field team won six events and five Tigers recorded personal bests as the 2016-17 indoor season began on Friday on Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.
Sophomore Maia Craver clocked a PR in the 200 as she won the event at 24.83 – the only sprinter to run under 25 seconds. Sophomore Elisa Steele PR'ed as well at 25.34 to take third, while Walter was fifth at 25.59. Craver also put up a PR in the prelims of the 60 hurdles with an 8.75 but elected not to compete in the finals. She left that task up to sophomore Ellie Randolph who herself would sprint a PR of 8.80 to win the final. Sophomore Allison Harris was fifth at 9.17.
Randolph's day wasn't done yet as she won the long jump on her fourth attempt, clearing 5.44 (17-10.25). Sophomore Kerri Davidson along with Craver both reached 5.33 (17-6_ to tie for third, while freshman Carson Brisk was fifth at 5.29 (17-4.25).
Sophomore Sydney Hausman jumped to 11.10 (36-5) in the triple – good enough for fourth place.
Three Tigers made the finals of the 60, out of 25 competitors. Sophomore Christina Walter was the runner-up at 7.77 with freshman Ashley Willingham third at 7.89. Freshman Heidi Baron was fifth with a time of 7.94.
Sophomore Carly Bonnet was the runner-up in the 500 as she clocked 1:16.57. Freshman Devon Block-Funkhouser was fifth at 1:20.08.
Another second-place finish came from sophomore Allison Glossinger in the 800. She posted a 2:25.75.
In the 1000, freshman Erin Endres was fourth at 3:00.83 with sophomore Marie-Fee Breyer right behind in fifth at 3:03.53.
Sophomore Madison Offstein recorded a PR in the mile as she finished third at 5:06.17. Senior Maria Seykora clocked 5:07.41 for fourth place.
Princeton had the top two 4x400 relays. Quinn Parker, Heidi Baron, Willingham and Steele ran 3:48.03 for the victory while Craver, Frances Lodge, Mikaela Sawyer and Hadley Wilhoite were second at 3:56.20.
Earlier in the afternoon Wilhoite placed third in the high jump, clearing 1.55 (5-1).
In the pole vault, sophomore Katlyn Rymarzow was second at 3.30 (10-10) while classmate Lauren Santi was fourth at 3.00 (9-10).
Sophomore Kennedy O'Dell threw a PR in the shot put as she placed second at 13.98 (45-10.5). She was building up to it as each attempt got further before her sixth landed at 13.98.
Senior Julia Ratcliffe, back after training for the 2016 Olympics, claimed the win in the weight. She landed 18.66 (61-2.75) on her third attempt, while her other two countable throws of 17.57 and 17.96 would have been good enough for first as well. O'Dell followed in second place at 16.69 (54-9.25).
The Tigers are back in action next Sunday, Dec. 11 when they host the New Year Invitational at Jadwin Gym.
