Scoring 10 of the game's first 12 points, the Princeton men's basketball team never let the early lead slip, getting in front by as many as 21 points in a 75-62 win Wednesday over Hawai'i to close the Pearl Harbor Invitational, televised by Fox Sports 1 from Bloch Arena at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam.
The Tigers will continue their journey with a 2 game Saturday at 2 p.m. at Liberty in Lynchburg, Va.
Princeton got a season-high 21 points from Steven Cook, 17 of those in the first half, while Spencer Weisz added 17 to hit 1,000 on the number for his career and Henry Caruso had 12. Cook's nine rebounds were a season best and put him one rebound short of his second career double-double.
Princeton shot 48.5 percent from the field in the first half and hit seven 3-pointers to take a 20-point lead into the break at 43-23, and after halftime, Hawai'i got no closer than nine points. Gibson Johnson and Noah Allen co-led the Rainbow Warriors with 19 points apiece.
