Decathlon Kick Starts Princeton Outdoor Invitational

PRINCETON, N.J. (4/14/16) - The Princeton Outdoor Invitational got underway this afternoon with a six-man decathlon. After five events, senior Bryan Oslin is fourth and sophomore James Burns is in fifth place.
Oslin began the day by winning the 100-meter dash at 11.28 and then took second in the 400 at 52.18. He was third in the long jump with a mark of 6.92, fourth in the shot put at 11.79 and fourth in the high jump clearing 1.76. In all he collected 3,498 points.
Burns has 3,235 points and had his best event in the shot put as he threw to 12.18. He then had fourth-place finishes in the 100 (11.77), 400 (52.66), long jump (6.21) and high jump (1.76).
Day 2 of the decathlon begins at 11 a.m., on Friday. The men's hammer throw and shot put will also take place on Friday at 4:30 p.m., at West Windsor Fields.
The majority of the meet will be held on Saturday at Weaver Stadium with the first field event being the javelin at 10 a.m., and the first track event at noon with the hurdles.
