PRINCETON, N.J. (9/15/16) - ESPNU visits Myslik Field at Roberts Stadium this Friday night as the Princeton men's soccer team battles Boston University. Game time is at 5:30 p.m.
This is the third consecutive season the teams are meeting and just the third time in program history. The Tigers are 1-0-1 in the series, after playing to a 2-2 tie in Boston in the first meeting in 2014, and then taking a 2-1 win last year in Princeton.
Princeton is coming off of a 3-1 win over No. 22 ranked Rider. Senior Greg Seifert scored twice in the win, as he was moved from defender to striker in the second half. Junior Harry Heffernan adds a goal and an assist, while junior Daniel Bowkett has two assists and freshman Benjamin Martin has one goal. Senior Josh Haberman has a 1.67 goals against average and a .667 save percentage making 10 saves on 15 shots. The Tigers are 1-2 overall.
The Terriers are 2-1 overall as they take on their first opponent outside of the Bay State. The squad lost to Boston College 3-2 in the season opener before defeating UMass 2-1 and then Northeastern 3-0 this past Tuesday. Anthony Viteri is the teams leading scorer with three of the team's seven tallies. Felix De Bona has scored twice, while Magnus Benediktsson has collected four assists. Matt Gilbert has started in goal in all three games and has a 1.38 GAA and a .636 save percentage making seven saves on 11 shots on goal.
