Cannady, Stephens Reach Career Bests in 97-66 Win over Brown

Devin Cannady led Princeton with 29 points as the Tigers opened their first weekend of back-to-back Ivy League games with a 97-66 win over Brown Friday night in Jadwin Gym.
The Tigers will finish the weekend with an 8 p.m. game Saturday against Yale, which can be seen on the Ivy League Digital Network and ESPN3.
The key stretch for Princeton Friday night was a 17-2 run of nearly four minutes that turned an eight-point Tiger advantage into a 23-point lead at 40-17 with five-plus minutes to go before the half. Pete Miller, Myles Stephens, Amir Bell and Cannady all scored during the run, with Stephens hitting two 3-pointers among his seven points during that stretch.
Princeton kept on it after the break, pushing the lead to 30 for the first time at 76-46 on a Steven Cook bucket just before the midway point of the second half. The Tiger lead topped out at 34, last on a Mike LeBlanc basket with four-plus minutes to go.
Stephens finished by matching his career best with 18 points while Cannady's 29 points bettered his previous best by three.
The Tigers shot 64.9 percent for the game and held Brown to 39.6 percent, netting 12 3-pointers with Cannady hitting seven of those.
