Princeton Improves To No. 14 In NFHCA Coaches' Poll

CHANDLER, ARIZ., - After winning four of their last five games, the Princeton Tigers have climbed to No. 14 in the most recent Penn Montco/NFHCA Division I Coaches' Poll.

After beginning 2017 with one win in its first five games, Princeton has rolled off four of five to even its record at 5-5. Eight of the Tigers' 10 opponents have been ranked, six of which have been in the top-10.

Princeton trailed against Yale on Friday before Ryan McCarthy scored twice in the final 2:56 to give the Tigers their second Ivy League victory of the season. The Tigers also dropped a 1-0 decision to then-No. 7 Syracuse on Sunday.

With an 11-0 record, UConn is still the top squad in the Coaches' Poll with 46-of-49 first-place votes. The Huskies will come to Bedford Field on Sunday (12 p.m.). Princeton has won three times in program history against the No. 1 team in the country, the last coming against North Carolina in the 2012 National Championship game.

The rest of the top five features Duke, Virginia, Michigan and Penn State. Harvard is right in front of Princeton at No. 13.

Before the UConn matchup, the Tigers take on Columbia at Bedford on Friday (6:30 p.m.). Both games this weekend will be streamed on the Ivy League Network.
