EYE ON THE TIGERS
Princeton is 2-5-3 on the season with three of its losses being to top-10 ranked teams including last Saturday's game at No. 4 Clarkson. The loss was Princeton's first in three games after defeating Union 3-0 and then tying No. 7 St. Lawrence in Canton, 4-4. Junior Karlie Lund sits atop the scoring column with 11 points on four goals and seven assists. Sophomore Carly Bullock has scored the most goals on the team, eight, to ranked seventh in the nation in goals per game, and adds one assist. Junior defender Stephanie Sucharda has a team-high eight helpers and is thisclose to breaking into the top-10 in points for a defender nationally. Fellow defender Claire Thompson has also been productive offensively, with five points. Sophomore Stephanie Neatby is 1-5-3 in goal with a .915 save percentage and a 2.48 GAA. Senior Alysia DaSilva has played one games this season, earning a shutout with 35 saves, and could see action this weekend as well.
SCOUTING THE WARRIORS
Merrimack heads into the weekend with a 4-10-3 overall record and looking to snap a five-game winless skid. The last time out the Warriors dropped a pair of games to Providence - a team Princeton opened the season with in a pair of ties. Merrimack began the season with impressive one-goal wins over Boston University and Minnesota. Being in just its third varsity season, there are no seniors on the Merrimack squad but three juniors lead the offense in scoring. Katelyn Rae has five goals and three assists for eight points, while Paige Voight has five assists and one goal. Jessica Bonfe, defender Felila Manu and sophomore Mikyla Grant-Mentis each have five points as well. Merrimack has split playing time between two goaltenders in sophomore Lea-Kristine Demers and junior Samantha Ridgewell - which most likely means Princeton will face each one. Demers is 3-4-2 with a .929 save percentage and a 2.23 GAA, while Ridgewell is 1-6-1 with a .932 save percentage and a 2.09 GAA. Nationally, they ranked 10-11 in save percentage.
THE PRINCETON/MERRIMACK SERIES
This is the first time Princeton and Merrimack will be meeting. Merrimack became a NCAA varsity program in 2015-16.
COMMON FOES
Princeton and Merrimack have played three common opponents: Providence, St. Lawrence and Union. Merrimack went 0-2 vs Providence, 0-1-1 vs. St. Lawrence and split with Union. Princeton tied Providence twice, tied St. Lawrence and beat Union 3-0.
