Tigers Scores Two Wins, Improves To 5-0

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Princeton Tigers improved to 5-0 this season with a 12-2 win over the Claremont Mudd-Scripps Athenas and a 12-5 victory over the St. Francis-Brooklyn Terriers at the Kinney Natatorium on Saturday.

Freshman Amy Castellano had her first career hat trick to pace the Tigers' offense. Chelsea Johnson, Eliza Britt and Charlotte Valentine also had multi-goal games. Britt completed the game with six points, adding four assists. Morgan Hallock drew four ejections in the victory.
The Tigers' defense was sparkling as it held the Athenas scoreless in the first quarter. Princeton scored three goals in the first eight minutes and four more times in the second frame as it took a 7-1 advantage into the intermission.
Princeton pitched a shutout in the third quarter, scoring three more times to take a commanding 10-1 advantage into the final frame. Kasey Bersh finished up the contest for Ashleigh Johnson, who had five saves.

In front, 11-4, heading into the fourth stanza, the freshman goalie made four saves as the Tigers completed a 12-5 win.
The Tigers will finish the Bison Invite tomorrow vs. George Washington beginning at 9:15 a.m. Princeton will then take some time before an ESPNU matchup vs. No. 21 Harvard on Feb. 25 (10:15 a.m.) at DeNunzio Pool.
