The Tigers, coming off a second-straight 4-1 run in the Ivy League, will try to end a 15-match losing streak to the Broncs Thursday night. They have come close in two straight years — the Tigers lost 18-15 in 2015, and 17-16 last season — and they will try again to break through against a team whose only loss has come to nationally ranked Edinboro.
While Princeton could have as many as four nationally ranked starters, including fourth-ranked Matthew Kolodzik (22-2), Rider has a strong 1-2 punch in the middle of its lineup. Junior B.J. Clagon is cuurently ranked 17th at 157, while classmate Chad Walsh is ranked sixth at 165. Walsh, an All-American last season, won the clinching match to help Rider escape Dillon Gym last season with a one-point win.
The following night, Princeton will take on EIWA rival Franklin & Marshall, who have dropped three straight matches entering the week. Princeton is 6-2 against EIWA teams this season.
Following Friday's match, all attention will turn to the 2017 EIWA Championships, which will be held March 3-4 at Bucknell.
