Devin Cannady scored 29 points on 9 of 11 shooting overall and 7 of 8 from 3-point range as the Princeton men's basketball team ran its winning streak to 12 games with a 71-52 win at Yale Friday night.
The win was Princeton's first at Lee Amphitheater since 2011, and it gives Princeton a 9-0 start in the Ivy League for the first time since 1998, when the Tigers went 14-0. Princeton's winning streak is also its longest since that season, when current head coach Mitch Henderson helped the Tigers to 20 straight wins as a senior.
The win also clinches a bid at the inaugural Ivy League Tournament, which will be held at The Palestra in Philadelphia, March 11-12. The top four teams in the Ivy will make the tournament, with the winning team getting the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
Cannady scored 20 of his points in the first half as Princeton took a nine-point lead into the break at 38-29. The Tigers broke open a two-point game with an 11-2 run that put Princeton up 27-16 with six-plus minutes before halftime, and after that, the Bulldogs were never closer than four points.
That four-point Princeton lead came just more than three minutes into the second half, and Princeton responded with a 13-3 run to go up 55-41, after which the Tigers never saw their lead below double figures.
Cannady's 29-point night tied his career best from earlier this season against Brown, and Myles Stephens added a career-high 20, upping his previous best by a point. Miye Oni led Yale with 12 points with Anthony Dallier adding 10 for the Bulldogs.
Princeton shot 59 percent (26-44) on the night, going 13 of 23 from 3-point range in the team's 13 game with 10 or more 3-pointers this season.
The Tigers will look to complete the Yale-Brown sweep Saturday in a 6 p.m. game in Providence. The Tigers last beat Yale and Brown on the road in that order, which occurs every other year, in 2001.
