Paulson Advances to Eugene

Junior William Paulson will make his first appearance at the NCAA Championships in Eugene as Day 3 of the East Regionals concluded this evening in Lexington. Paulson ran the fourth fastest time in the 1500 with a 3:46.95. He posted splits of 46.65, 1:05.31, 1:00.30 and 54.70. The semifinal of the 1500 will be held on the first day of the championships, Wednesday, June 7 at 4:46 p.m. (local time).

Also running in the 1500 quarterfinal was junior Garrett O'Toole. He finished 10th in heat 2 and 10th overall at 3:48.48, with splits of 46.81, 1:05.38, 1:00.77 and 55.52.
Today's regional was delayed more than an hour because of rain and many of the field events were halted in the middle of competition.

Senior Jared Bell fouled on his first two throws in the discus and then launched his third attempt to 51.10 (167-8). He finished 39th overall.
Senior Xavier Bledsoe cleared the opening mark of 2.00 (6-6.75) and made it over 2.05 (6-8.74) on his third attempt. He was not able to clear 2.10 (6-10.75) this afternoon to finish 29th.
Sophomore Stefan Amokwandoh did not start in the triple jump.
Princeton qualified two Tigers to the NCAA Championships. Joining Paulson out West will be August Kiles in the pole vault.
