Princeton Stands No. 8 In Penn Montco/NFHCA Division I Preseason Poll

NFHCA Preseason Poll
CHANDLER, Ariz. – The Princeton Tigers sit No. 8 in the Penn Montco/NFHCA Division I preseason poll released today. The Tigers had two first-place votes and were one of nine teams to receive a first-place tally.

No. 1 North Carolina recorded 14 first-place votes, en route to 1,137 points, just in front of No. 2 Duke (1,081 points). The Tarheels will be the season-opener for the Tigers on Sept. 1 at Bedford Field (4 p.m.). The Blue Devils had 15 first-place votes and will battle the Tigers on Sept. 17 (12 p.m.) in Durham, N.C.

The Tigers will face each team in the preseason top seven, which includes No. 3 Delaware (Sept. 3), No. 4 UConn (Oct. 8), No. 5 Syracuse (Oct. 1), No. 6 Maryland (Sept. 19) and No. 7 Penn State (Sept. 10). Louisville (No. 9) and Virginia (No. 10) round out the top 10.

Head coach Carla Tagliente's unit takes on two more top-25 teams in Boston University (Sept. 24) and Harvard (Oct. 21). In last season's preseason poll, Princeton came in No. 15 and followed that with a trip to the NCAA Final Four for the seventh time in program history.
