Tigers to Race at Greater Louisville Classic

The Princeton men's cross country team will compete at the Greater Louisville Classic on Saturday, Sept. 30. Racing on the E.P. Tom Sawyer State Park course, the site of the NCAA Championships, the 8k gold race is scheduled for 9:30 a.m.
Running against Princeton are: Auburn, Bellarmine, Belmont, Boise State, Central Michigan, Eastern Illinois, Eastern Kentucky, Furman, Grand Canyon, Grand Valley State, Illinois (19), Illinois State, IUPUI, Kentucky, Lipscomb, Louisville, Marquette, Miami, Mid. Tenn. (20), Murray St., UNC, Northern Arizona (1), Oakland, Purdue, Rogers St., Samford, SE Missouri, UT-Martin, Toronto, Utah Valley, Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech (24), VMI, Western Ontario, Wisconsin (7), UW-Milwaukee.
This is the Tigers' first time competing in the Classic, a meet held annually since 2009. The last time Princeton ran on this course was in 2012 at the NCAA Championships when it finished 11th overall - its highest finish in NCAA championship history.
Princeton has been testing different groups of runners this season, with the middle distance finishing fifth at the Fordham Fiasco and then ran as a pack at the Iona Meet of Champions to take sixth.
Championship season gets underway on Friday, Oct. 27 in Van Cortlandt Park with the Ivy League Heptagonal Championships.
